Even in a nuclear winter…

Christmas music.. can’t really escape it no matter how you feel about Jesus, so might as well embrace the wackier side of it.  Here’s a couple new tunes from the UK that are guaranteed to get inside yer egg noggin and plague you for days.

This Gruff Rhys song is destined to become a classic (apocalypse or not).  Lost somewhere between irony and complete sincerity.

Wiley wants you to get along with your family.  And eat them.

… or at least eat with them.

Days are getting longer here in the upper hemisphere.  Re-joice!

This Week: Music from Appalachia

This week’s show will be a little different than usual. Rather than featuring a segment on an entire country, we’ll be presenting music from Appalachia, the mountainous region that stretches across much of the east coast of the United States.

We will be joined in the studio by Andrew Karakla, who hails from Virginia and has a strong connection to the musical heritage of his native land. Expect folk, gospel, and everything soulful. Even within America, there are many exciting and mysterious sounds to explore..
