Best Year (for music) Ever!

Can you handle one last 2020 music retrospective? I promise it won’t have any Fiona Apple or any picks from other mainstream media sources. Despite being unanimously and pointlessly blamed for all of our human problems, 2020 was of course pretty great for music creation and releases. The beauty of music helped many souls survive global imprisonment, and quarantine gave many musicians the opportunity to tune out the world and simply create music. Despite financial struggles for most musicians (no touring, continual death of album sales), these brave creatures continue to make some of the most sublime, placeless and timeless art that humanity has never even dreamed of. These artists are my heroes. Thank you and groove on.

A funky music mix for a wacky summer right here. Dive in and explore new music spanning the globe – the closest thing to international travel that we’re gonna get this year.

Fine Delicacies of 2019

As a new decade dawns, Wandering Rhythms looks back at the last (spectacular) year in music. As usual, these are artists you probably will not find on other best-of lists, and I sincerely hope you discover music here that inspires and surprises you. Despite the seismic global changes that seem inevitable in the coming years, the endless creativity of humans make me believe that we will ultimately get our shit together. But it’s gonna take a real team effort!

Fine Works of the Earthen People

2018 was a year. There was more humanity in the world than ever before. It was wild. But the people made some brilliant sonic documents that just might outlive their creators. Here is a supremely subjective best-of-2018 music mix, blatantly ignoring all other best-of list. Mostly obscure music from far away that I think is exciting. Hope you hear something fresh (PLAYLIST HERE). Bless the creators out there!

And look here, an uncut dance mix!
